Bringing Home Baby

Amelie came home on June 29th at 1 day old.  Janelle and the boys changed their plans to come help us those first couple days, including cooking our meals, holding Amelie, and entertaining Logan.  I was worried it would be a rough transition for Logan, but he's doing well.  I think all the activity and visitors have helped. Logan  really loves his cousin Axel.  They played and played and even slept together in Logan's tiny toddler bed.

Logan is also bonding with Daddy.  That first day at home I picked him up to go put him to bed but he reached out for Mark and wanted Daddy to put him to bed instead.  That's never happened before.  I was a tiny bit sad, but its for the best. (And this only lasted about a day, anyways.)

Grandma Z and Kenny arrived the day after Janelle left, so we were never without help very long.  They took Logan on lots of outings, including to the Zoo, the Children's Museum, and Tiny Town.  We celebrated the Fourth with the Indian Hills parade (complete with helicopter landing) and a cookout at Kenny's.  Logan is getting thoroughly spoiled this summer, and its starting to show.  Tammy will have to straighten him out when he goes back to day care in a few weeks.

We took Amelie to the doctor at 4 days old, and she had developed jaundice, so we got a bili-blanket delivered and wrapped her up in a glowing purple light for 4 days.  Technology has really advanced since Logan's jaundiced days.  He had to lay on a bili-bed all day; the blanket was much better.

Here are some pictures from our first week at home.

Ball Room at the Children's Museum.  Logan loved this.  All the balls go up through various tubes and collect on the ceiling, and then every so often they all rain down.  Here the kids are waiting in anticipation of the big storm.
