The USA Pro Cycling Challenge finished in Denver this year, so we went down to see the festivities. Mark went to the Golden/Boulder race the day before too. Maybe he'll write about it at some point, but the key takeaways from that day were that he saw Patrick Dempsey and Zach from Saved by the Bell! And also the fan that wears the big steer horns and is always on TV during the Tour de France. Mark was standing next to him waiting for the riders to come up Boulder Canyon. We DVR'd the TV coverage, and the horned guy got on TV. Mark's shadow also got on TV... we had to rewind many times and I never quite saw it, but Mark says it was there. Later in the coverage, Mark himself got on TV as part of the crowd outside one of the team buses. He's practically famous.
Strider was doing bike demos near the finish line in Denver. They set up a mini race course, complete with starting blocks, ramps, and gold medals. Logan got to try out a bike and he loved it. He even made it into their post-race publicity (I copied a screenshot below). Most of the kids were older and were flying by Logan, but he diligently kept going and eventually made it around the course. Mark ran out and bought him a strider bike the next day, but Logan hasn't shown much interest in it since. They sure knew how to sucker us in! He's kind of young for it though, maybe he'll like it better next year.

Logan's picture was in the email Strider sent out after the race. He's practically famous too. |

Riding down the ramp. I'm feeling too lazy to turn this photo. |
