San Diego/ ABQ

We spent the weekend visiting Rob, Julie, and Sam in San Diego. Rob is our old friend from Air Force days, and Mark’s old roommate. Sam was born in October and we hadn’t met him yet, so it was time for a visit. Rob and Julie came to visit us when Logan was the same age. It was fun to remember that age—the constant wide-eyed, surprised look, the squeaks and smiles-- and see how much Logan’s changed in just 9 months. We ate fish tacos downtown, went hiking at Torrey Pines, and watched the sun set from their roof deck. Mark and Rob also went surfing, and Mark came back declaring surfing was his new second favorite hobby and thinking we might need a second home in San Diego. I don’t disagree. It was really nice to escape winter for a couple days.

On the way home we made a stop in Albuquerque for Will and Katie’s wedding. We have fond memories of Albuquerque, and it was fun to be back there together for the first time since we moved 4 years ago. We got lunch at Kelly’s, stocked up on essential desserts at Trader Joe’s, and went for a hike in the foothills. It was great to see some of our old crew at the wedding— it felt like no time had passed at all. We did not manage to take any pictures of them, however we did get 11 photos of the cupcake tower. Got to have your priorities.
