Fourth of July

We headed out to Independence Pass near Aspen for 4th of July-- we were only there a day and a half, but packed in some hiking, camping, and just enough climbing to realize we need to go back.

Hike to Linkin Lake.  0.62 miles. Seemed much further, at 4 year old speed.

It rained and hailed on us twice, but the sun came out in between.

Made it!  Time to throw rocks in the lake.

Back at camp, Axel reading to Logan.  They had such a good time together.  Most of it revolved around a medium sized Home Depot box that they tried to cram themselves into.

Ama and I went for a hike up Mayflower Gulch near Leadville on the way home

And then we got 4th of July fireworks ice cream.
